Artificial Intelligence, AI, is advancing so rapidly now, the 2020s will be seen as the decade of AI, as AI increasingly pervades many aspects of what we do and how we work. And it is all happening faster and sooner than you think. This year, 2023, is the Year of AI, in the Decade of AI, in the century of AI. That’s how pivotal this moment is.
With AI advancing so rapidly, it is hard to stay on top of what AI can do now and where it is going. The speed, the importance and the depth of the changes AI is making points to the need for on-point, timely, and technically correct content on AI. So I have been not only diving deep in AI as a user and developer of AI, but also an author. I am hosting my thoughts and the news on AI on Substack, at https://patmcguinness.substack.com/. I aim to deliver actionable and helpful advice, thoughts and insights on what’s going on in the world of AI.
AI will impact all of us. It will impact your job, what and how you buy, how businesses sell, market, create, do logistics, and more. Education, learning, working and more will change. This substack is for anyone who wants and needs to understand what AI means to them.
I will be posting multiple times per week, hoping to keep you up-to-date on the field of AI, giving you both breadth and depth on what is going on.
I have a PhD in Computer Science and have had a career of over 30 years in technology, working in software development, machine learning, data science, and EDA in various roles from technical lead to group manager,VP of engineering and CTO. With my background and love for AI research, I am able to understand the research, engineering and technology part of AI. I will share some of those research learning, and try to do so in way to help you understand, whatever your level of prior understanding.
