McGuinness Memorial Day BBQ

Our campaign has had several neighborhood events this month, and now for Memorial Day, we are hosting one at our own home, at 9310 Old Lampasas Trail, on Monday, from 11am to 2pm. It's our McGuinness Memorial Day BBQ.

You are welcome to come, and all we ask is that you RSVP to us and come prepared to support the campaign. For more details, follow the "facebook" link and see our event.

California, Democrats and Taxes

Doesn't this take the cake? California Democrats propose $5 billion in new taxes. In a state with double-digit unemployment, these Democrats are doing the opposite of what a state needs to do in order to get the economy back on its feet.

Jobs and Prosperity

With the stock market skittish, unemployment far too high, the Federal deficit at $1.5 trillion, and the state of Texas facing its own budget gap, it's clear that we need people in office who will do what's right on Jobs and Prosperity. It will be my #1 priority as your State Representative.

I will work for pro-growth policies that incentivize job creation and a prosperous economy through low taxes, fiscally responsible Government, a well-educated workforce, affordable energy and technology innovation.

McGuinness comments on Austin city council's proposed travel ban to Arizona

On May 12th, Patrick McGuinness made the following statement on Austin city council's proposed travel ban to Arizona:

"The city council's proposed travel ban to Arizona is an over-reaction and a diversion from the real business the city council should be attending to. Boycotting an entire state over a single law is unwise and divisive, hurting all residents in Arizona, Texas and Austin over a political disagreement. One has to ask whether we in Austin would like all of Austin boycotted over any of the many questionable decisions of our city council.

District 50 and why it has the "Pflugerville notch"

When I am asked "Where is District 50?" I say "northern Travis" and then reel off the district this way - "northwest Austin, north Austin, Wells Branch, and Pflugerville". It reaches from the Canyon Creek neighborhood near 620 through the above areas to the northeast Travis rural precinct 107, almost to Elgin, and also reaches across I-35 near Braker and Parmer to parts of northeast Austin.
